Program Brief Description
Nowadays we live in a rapidly changing world in all aspects. A world where the boundaries of time and space appears to fade away between the old and new. The challenge now is how to prepare for jobs that don't exist yet... using technologies that haven't yet been invented. For this comes the KLASS (KFUPM Learning Activities Summer Season) Summer Enrichment Program offered by King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals. The program will train you the skills of the future and the most important principles of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

What are the tracks of this program?
There are eight insightful and useful (tracks) teaching future skills and the principles of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, integrate technologies into our lives and remove the boundaries between physical, digital and biological fields.
All these tracks are offered within 8 weeks during the summer semester.
Each track lasts one week only.

Who will be the trainers?
The program will be presented by a group of specialists who have a very high capacity for training and a long practical experience in the industry and its needs.

What is the benefit of the program?
The program will help the student to exploit his time during the summer vacation to increase his scientific knowledge. Which in turn will raise his chance in the job market and give him a competitive advantage.

What are the program requirements?
The program is open to all students, there are no requirements or conditions for registration. The priority for admission to the program is for those who register early.

Is the program free?
No. The program has a registration fee (SR 25) that will be considered as a loan by student funds. This is to ensure the student’s willingness to attend the program due to the limited availability of seats. There are no other fees associated with the enrollment in the program.

Are there accredited certificates for passing the program?
Yes, there is a certificate upon successfully passing each track, and a separate certificate for those who pass the entire program (8 tracks) successfully.

When does the registration open and when does it end?
Registration starts on Thursday 15th May 2020 and ends on Wednesday 27th May 2020.

When does the program start and when does it end?
The program starts on Sunday 31st May 2020 and ends on Thursday 23rd July 2020.

Is it an online program or attendance is required?
The program is fully online.

Can I watch the lecture later if I couldn't attend the class?
Yes, videos will be available for watching from 04:00 pm to 10:00 am next day.

Is there any difference between attending the classes at the real time and watching the videos?
Of course, classes at the real time starting at 11:00 am enable students to interact with the lecturer, ask, and discuss last daily quiz. In addition, students can participate in polls and answer questions during the class.

What is the daily quiz?
It is an optional 30-minutes quiz in the contents of the lecture presented at the same day. The purpose of the quiz is simply to assess the students' understanding. It is available to be taken from 2:00 pm - 11:00 am next day.

Is it compulsory to take the daily quiz?
No, it's just a feedback to measure students’ comprehension and to help passing the weekly Exam.

Is the weekly exam compulsory?
Yes, a student must get 75% or above to be certified.

Is it compulsory to attend classes?
It is a must for certification. Student must not be absent in more than 20% in any track to be certified in that track.

Is it required to register in all tracks?
The student can register in one or more tracks but it is preferable to register in all tracks, so he can have an integrated background on these topics.

Do I need a previous background in a specific field in order to succeed in the program?
The student does not need any previous background in order to succeed in the program. It was designed to suit different disciplines and all university levels.
